Nervous System Wellness
When our nervous systems are stressed or in fight/flight/freeze mode, we cannot function at our best. Life happens and there will always be stressors. It is how we deal with these situations and how we recover that matters. This is called resilience. Resilience will make your life flow smoother and with greater ease.
During midlife, we have already been through 4 or even 5 decades of highs and lows. We may have experienced little traumas or big traumas and have been so busy we were not able to process them. We may have childhood traumas that have not been dealt with. According to a study by the "Adverse Childhood Experience Questionnaire" childhood trauma can exacerbate symptoms of Menopause. All of these traumas are stored in the nervous system and express themselves as physical or emotional health issues.
At Inner Connections Women, everything we do starts with creating a calm, more resilient nervous system as the foundation. By building this foundation, you will be calmer and healthier and be able to handle life's ups and downs with greater ease. When your nervous system is more regulated, the brain feels safer to make changes.
Michelle believes in helping you understand your own nervous system so you know how to stay regulated not only throughout the day but during stressful times. She teaches you tools and strategies to stay regulated on your own, as well as, providing more intense nervous system regulation techniques such as CranioSacral Therapy, The Safe and Sound Protocol, Rhythmic Movement and Reflex Integration, Trauma Release Exercise and Emotional Freedom Technique.
